The relation between an Indian parent and a child is very special. It is filled with love, care, anger, and expectations. The relationship between an Indian parent and children is a complex one. From the day the child is born, the Indian parents see a vision of themselves in the child. The parent’s dream gets attached to the child. Every child in India grows with one common statement ‘we know what is best for you.’

From birth, the child becomes a reflection of their parent’s dream. The parents pass on their dream to the child to carry forward. They want to live their dream from their children’s eyes. Whether dancing or singing or playing a professional sport, the parents work hard to make them true.

Indian parents and children have a special bond. No matter wherever they are, they are always connected with each other. Even if they are in the office or busy with some work, they always call once or twice to check what the child is doing, had eaten his meals or not.

Indian parents are the most strict ones when it comes to their children’s studies. They want their children to have the best education. They work day and night to provide their child the best education possible. They start their savings even from the time they are born. They sacrifice their own needs to save for their child’s future. But, sometimes they get so much caught up in their work that they get little time to spend with their little ones. This ends up making a gap between them. And results in the child either being more close to other members of the house like granny or the babysitter.

The relationship of an Indian parent and a child is not limited to ensuring he/she gets a better education. It continues no matter how grown up they may be. They act as a guide when their son or daughter decides his career. They help him/her in choosing the best job for themselves. They are also totally involved in choosing a good life partner for them.

No matter when they come home after their office, an Indian mother ensures that his son or daughter does not sleep empty stomach. She cooks for them and also makes them eat till the neck. A common statement by Indian mothers while serving food is ‘eat one more.’

This relationship also experiences stress and strains. Even if the child has grown up, he/she will never dare to speak in a loud voice in front of their parent. The respect the child has towards his parent never dries up.

With the changing generation, everything is changing but this beautiful bond isn’t. no matter what the age, in whatever situation the child may be the first thing that comes out of his mouth his ‘mom.’
